The Ninja Cindy's
Annie is an English born singer/songwriter. Whilst travelling around South East Asia she bought a guitar and learnt how to strum from random travellers and ended up singing her way around Thailand and Laos and writing songs for the guitar. Yorkshire born and bred Helen grew up playing the piano, violin and clarinet however her desire to play music did not spark until her very first guitar lesson two years ago. Inspired by her long term love of The Beatles and more recent influences from the musical community in Sydney, she has been singing ever since. Helen has now begun writing her own songs. The collaboration of these two fresh faced poms began when the girls met at a party on a boat on Sydney Harbour and soon realised they shared a mutual obsession with The Beatles. A number of barbeque jam session's later (and one infamous Thai meal) and the Ninja Cindy's were born
Misplaced
Misplaced is an two piece acoustic group from Sydney's northern suburbs. Our sound captures the complexities of the current Australian alternative rock scene in a more emotive acoustic experience. Influences span from Karnivool to John Mayer, and the result is an easily accessible and raw sound full of harmonies and incredible guitar sections that seems to keep crowds quite happy.
Lance Whear
It's by taking an artistic approach in the way Lance Whear expresses his musicianship as he creates his XYRE music.Hiding away in his den for many years as a solo artist, writing and developing his sound on a recording level. His time was spent capturing and mixing a more production style based music as the preferred method. Only within the last few years which has seen the addition of other people incorporated into the creative mix. Now we see the process of bringing the previously recorded sound together with the material shown in live performance."Feelings and emotions is what my music is about, perspectives on many aspects of living, as well as acknowledging the desires from within."
Emergency Cheese
Instrumental duo Emperor Edam (Paul) and Lord Gorgonzola (Newton) banded together with their love of dairy (and studies at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music) in 2008. Comprising of ingredients from various genres of music, including experimental, jazz, progressive and fusion, this duo will take you on a weird and wonderful journey to an untouched dimension of sound.February saw Edam and Gorgonzola spreading their cheesy tunes to Melbourne (Ruby's Lounge, Pure Pop Records, Blue Tile Lounge), Port Macquarie and Armidale, in support of their new self-titled EP.
