With a warmth and stillness, she can hold an audience in a moment that lasts long after the last song is sung. Each performance resonates with Begley’s dark, haunting voice and her spare folk and country arrangements on guitar, banjo and ukulele make it easy for listeners to slip into a world of consummate song writing and offbeat storytelling. Helen has just released her first solo album, "The Bride"www.myspace.com/helenbegley The Ninja Cindy's Annie is an English born singer/songwriter. Whilst travelling around South East Asia she bought a guitar and learnt how to strum from random travellers and ended up singing her way around Thailand and Laos and writing songs for the guitar. Yorkshire born and bred Helen grew up playing the piano, violin and clarinet however her desire to play music did not spark until her very first guitar lesson two years ago. Inspired by her long term love of The Beatles and more recent influences from the musical community in Sydney, she has been singing ever since. Helen has now begun writing her own songs. The collaboration of these two fresh faced poms began when the girls met at a party on a boat on Sydney Harbour and soon realised they shared a mutual obsession with The Beatles. A number of barbeque jam session's later (and one infamous Thai meal) and the Ninja Cindy's were born The Usual Suspects A fresh dynamic of Rock/Folk with a twist of Country. Real songs from the heart with something new to discover in each listen. Plus a bunch of good old, great fun, rockin' blues that's sure to put a stomp in your boots and a smile on your face! The Usual Suspects are regulars around the Beaches, including The Manly Boatshed, The Manly Fig, and more recently The Manly Food and Wine Festival (OK, we mainly play in Manly).
